Top 3 Signs of Vitamin D Deficiency !

What comes to your mind when you hear about Vitamin D deficiency? Most likely you will mention weak bones and tooth decay. But there are many other symptoms of Vitamin D deficiency that one should be aware of. I have suffered from chronic fatigue, frequent infections and illness, depression due to vitamin D deficiency. Many studies have shown that vitamin D deficiency is common in both men and women across different age groups in the US adult population, especially among minority groups. Vitamin D deficiency is defined as 25-OH-D serum levels 20 ng/ml and this can be measured using a simple blood test. Here is a medical research paper where they studied a total of 4495 individuals aged 20 years and above. These researchers found that about 30% of white Americans had vitamin D deficiency. But the rate jumped to about 80% for black americans. Also about 80% Hispanic men and 65% Hispanic women were deficient in vitamin D. Other minority groups didn’t fare any better, and around 55 to 60 percent of them had a vitamin D deficiency. So that means more than half the population suffers from vitamin D deficiency, and this is mind blowing.
